Late into the night, the girl decided that she absolutely could not sleep with the dripping noise bothering her. She checked every faucet in the house, and none were on. She couldn't figure out what was making the noise, but she noticed she couldn't hear it in the living room, so she decided to sleep on the couch. She went back to her room and got her pillow and blanket. She knelt down to get her dog out from under the bed, and saw a horrible sight.
The escaped killer was under her bed, grinning at her. He had ripped her dog's jaw off so that it wouldn't bark, and it had bled to death. That was what had been making the sound she heard. And it had been the killer licking her hand the whole time.
